Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) § 1798.105 and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 17, you have the right to request deletion of your personal information.

What Gets Deleted

If we approve your deletion request, we will delete or anonymize the following information:

  • Claim Details: Information about your Robinhood account and trading activity
  • Communications: Any correspondence between you and us
  • Technical Data: IP addresses, browser information, and usage data

Important Information About Deletion

Exceptions to Deletion

We may not be able to delete all of your information in the following circumstances:

  • Already Sold to Attorneys: If we have already sold your information to attorneys, we cannot retrieve it from them. We will notify you if this is the case.
  • Business Records: We are required by law to retain certain business records (including records of sales) for 7 years. These records may be retained in anonymized form.
  • Legal Compliance: We may retain information necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
  • Security and Fraud Prevention: Information necessary to detect and prevent fraud or security incidents.

Verification Process

To protect your privacy, we must verify your identity before processing deletion requests. As part of this process:

  • We will match the information you provide against records in our database
  • We may request additional information or documentation to confirm your identity
  • We may contact you at the email address or phone number you provide

Processing Timeline

Under CCPA § 1798.105(c), we will respond to your deletion request within 45 days. If we need additional time, we may extend the response period by an additional 45 days and will notify you of the extension.

What We Keep After Deletion

After processing your deletion request, we may retain certain information in limited circumstances:

Anonymized Data

We may retain anonymized statistical information that cannot be used to identify you, such as:

  • Aggregate counts of requests received
  • General geographic regions (state level)
  • Claim categories and outcomes (without personal identifiers)

Legal Compliance Records

We are required to retain certain business records for legal compliance, including:

  • Financial transaction records (7 years)
  • Records of information sales to attorneys (7 years)
  • Tax and accounting records as required by law
  • Records of your deletion request itself (to honor your preferences)

These records will be stored securely and will not be used for marketing or shared with third parties except as required by law.
